The Netherlands: The official name of the country is the Kingdom of the Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander is the king of the nation. However, the name Holland is often used when all of the Netherlands is meant.

Holland: Holland actually only means the two provinces of Noord-Holland (North) and Zuid-Holland (South).

Dutch: The people of the Netherlands are called The Dutch, and their language is Dutch.

Leiden: A university city since 1575, Leiden has been one of Europe's most prominent scientific centres for more than four centuries.
