Although a lot of people think my main influence is Tim Burton just because I have a very scratchy style, or because I draw a lot of skeletons. But one of my big influences is actually an artist called Jim Mahfood. When I tried getting into comics in college, his art allowed me to realize that having your own style is way more interesting than just doing what everyone else is doing. When we moved to California I got rid of most of my stuff, but I did bring with me all my Jim Mahfood comics. It was so crazy meeting him for the first time and getting him to sign all his works that I owned.
