JULY/AUGUST RELEASES

Last month we have officially started releasing designs from our Summer 2014 collection. We started with our hottest design of the summer Dead Riding Hood. This design was almost removed from production as I wasn't happy with it 100% but as always the concept speaks louder than my drawing skills. As our Tokyo Chan character continues to exist and develop with the Akumu Ink world she is constantly found at the scene of the crime, this time holding the demonic wolf's head in her hands. This girl is just too tough to wait around for the woodsman to come rescue her and therefore takes matters into her own hands.

This month we continue to build upon the storyline of The Gentleman. Originally from our The Investigation design, and returned recently in Summon the Spirits is now returning in When Time Runs Out. A very abstract contemplation of death. I played with some interesting symbols with the clock in the monocle and numbers counting down from 13 to 0 in his pipe's smoke. The thing that pleased me the most with this design was the layout, it's very different from anything I've done.

Also this month is our first ever phrase design. You Give Me Nightmares. Based off a pin from last year's pin sets. I really liked it and felt it tied into perfectly with what we were doing. I thought about putting more into this design to include a character or eye symbols to dot the 'I's but I figured let's try something completely different that what we've done in the past to see the reaction.
