ZOMBIES AND SKULLS
Another month means another couple of designs have been released on our website. I just keep getting more and more excited about these new designs. Every time we meet you all in person we get some much love for our original character inspired designs. So let me tell you that they are here to stay and we will jsut keep coming up with more of them for you. First let me show you La Calavera. Our spin on the ever popular Dia de los Muertos imagery that we keep seeing everywhere. Every season we try to bring in a fresh new sugar skull design as it works so well for the Akumu Ink universe. Originally featuring the Dia de los Muertos scoop tee, then the Sugar Skull loose scoop, now I think we've more than ever figured out the perfect mix of nightmare with sugar skull. Some of you may have seen this design already as we did premiere it at NYCC 2013, but now this creepy cemetery dwelling girl is finally available to purchase on our website in a men's tee, women's tee, women's long sleeve, and art print.
Next up is our Bye Bye Balloon design. Originally I drew it as just a zombie boy losing his balloon. I was very close to scraping the design as I felt it was missing something. But of course, leave it to Aldora to suggest that his arm should be floating away with the balloon. Once I redrew it the image made so much sense that we had no choice but to release it. So many people giggled when they saw it at NYCC that we knew this was a keeper.
