The Joker Oil Painting :: Part 2 (WiP)

I don't know if I'm doing this right. Although I've learned a lot on this second attempt than I did on my first, I feel like I'm not using the medium to its fullest potential. From the youtube videos I've seen of artists using oils this looks like a water colour piece. I think I may be missing the point. But I'll watch more videos and keep try to make this come out the way I see it in my head.
